Will Nelson Photography/Will Nelson Images - I like to photograph: people, landscapes, sports, products, architecture and cityscapes, animals, and vehicles. I really enjoy the interaction when working with people in all situations, including: weddings, portrait shoots, on location shoots, as well as candid company events and social shoots. I also really love the serenity and composition of landscapes and countrysides. Cityscapes and architectural shoots provide great opportunities for focusing on composition and light. Shooting sports is very fulfilling especially when capturing the excitement. I have always had pets, so I love the challenge of taking photos of pets, farm animals, and other wildlife. I really like the variety of vehicles on and off the road and enjoy working on studies of entire vehicles and interesting parts of vehicles. Will Nelson Images/Photography is a serious amateur/part-time professional craft that I put as much time into as I possibly can. I am also a member of the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild.
I am a digital photographer who began as a film photographer in the early 1980's, when I mostly shot photos of people on location. I really enjoy photographing every opportunity I get. I have a Master's Degree in Slavic Languages and Literature, and teach English, ESL, and World Languages for the Arlington School District in Arlington, Washington. I am currently pursuing an AA of Fine Arts in Photography through Everett Community College in Everett, Washington. I have been involved in technology for many many years and digital photography is a natural transition for me. I find the creative side of digital photography to be incredibly compelIing and fascinating and I also enjoy the technical side. I use a Nikon D300 camera body, and usually shoot with a Nikon 70-200 2.8 lens, a Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod and Monopod, an SB800 Flash, and B800’s - AlienBees Studio Lights. My workflow includes an Epson P5000 for backing up images on site, Adobe Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS4.
